About Us
J. M. Woodworth RRG,
Inc. was launched in 2006 with a Surplus Note provided by Oneida Savings Bank,
Oneida, NY, and $2 million of capital contributed by subscribing physicians and
surgeons as founding shareholders.
Medical Malpractice insurance policies written by J. M. Woodworth are on a “Paid Claims form” under which the liability for the indemnity shifts to the insurers when the claim is paid rather than when reported or at the time of occurrence. This allows premiums to be set on the basis of actual costs when incidents are incurred instead of reserved estimates. Claims Made & Reported Forms also are available from J. M. Woodworth.

Our Inspiration
Dr. Woodworth We named our medical malpractice Risk Retention Group after Dr. John Maynard Woodworth because he set the standard for medical service in the public interest. Born in Big Flats, New York in 1837, he distinguished himself saving the lives of wounded soldiers during the Civil War, later became the first Surgeon General of the United States, founded the American Public Health Association, and is credited with being the creator of triage medicine
